Role in Cannabis Law

In addition to specialized advice in cannabis regulatory and compliance standards, Christopher Lynch is experienced in general corporate matters and routinely provides advice on many aspects of corporate law, from advice with respect to entity structure and formation, corporate governance issues, employment and incentive agreements for key management personnel, mergers and acquisitions, as well as negotiating and developing all forms of corporate documents including license options, purchase and sales agreement, operating and shareholders agreements, and the myriad of inter-business contracts that form the matrix of legal assurances for companies doing business in the highly regulated industry of legal cannabis.

Christopher represents emerging and mature companies in many different disciplines of cannabis business, so his clients have the benefit of his experience and knowledge in a broad range of needs and situations. Christopher’s extensive knowledge of local regulations and multijurisdictional capabilities makes him well-positioned to help clients along the West Coast deal effectively and creatively with regulatory and compliance issues. As the cannabis industry expands, transactions become more complex, Chris’s ability to provide appropriate counsel across jurisdictions becomes all the more important for his clients.

Early Adopter

Before joining 7 Point Law, Chris researched packaging, labeling, and advertising practices in the Washington cannabis industry. He also worked with the Regulatory Enforcement and Economic Justice Section of the Seattle City Attorney’s Office, where he helped with the administration of cannabis issues within the City of Seattle.

Clients Appreciate the Process

Christopher approaches each issue brought by his clients with a step-by-step goal-oriented methodology to development of a strong legal foundation for cannabis businesses, which allows him to walk each client through what any cannabis company needs to consider in order to actualize best business practices. What surprises clients most is Christopher’s quick response times and their easy access to him, no matter which office he is working from in any given week.

Experience and Education

Christopher frequently presents at legal conferences and seminars on topics ranging from Federalism and state compliance standards to Corporate Governance, and Federal Pre-Emption in Cannabis Law. Christopher earned a B.A. in Honors English Literature, magna cum laude, from Seattle University and his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law. Christopher is a member of the Washington State Bar and the California State Bar.

As a Person

In his free time not taken up by the contemplation of the changing landscape of the highly regulated cannabis legal arena, Chris lifts weights, studies Japanese culture and history, enjoys friends and family, is an avid gamer, and plays the piano.
